great product
This driver is amazing. I am a contractor in Delaware and have used many types of drills and drivers. I have been using a 18v bosch drill for about 2 years and love it. I bought the bosch b/c I use almost all bosch tools now and am very pleased with both their performance and with the customer service. With this drill driving lag bolts and heavy fasteners has always been a chore. The torque on the 18v drill requires you to really have a good grip on the tool when driving lags. With this 12v driver you can drive lags alll day one-handed. Almost none of the torque is transferred to your wrist and it drives 1/4 by 3in lags into 2by4 in 2sec with no effort on my part. The only downside to this is the level of noise (hammer mechinism is loud by its nature), but if you are working for a prolonged period on a job site you should have some type of hearing protection anyway. This tool is the best thing to hit the market since the cordless drill.

better than the rest...
i've worked with the 18v dewalt and a 14.4 makita and this 12v bosch is more powerful that both, the makita's battery outlasted the bosch but the bosch is more compareable to the 18v dewalts battery life, belt clip and led light are good ideas too. would buy it again in a heartbeat, maybe the 14.4 next time...

REVIEW: Torque, torque, torque—-that's what this driver's about. It's lightweight, compact and so simple to use: Just pull the collet locking sleeve forward, chuck in a bit and let the sleeve go and you've got 1,050 inch-pounds of torque in your hand. We got the best results with a little patience, starting slowly, blasting the speed and letting off gently, slowing to a stop. You'll learn to sense when the fastener is seated, because if you give it another go, the tool will twist right out of your hand. A couple of nice features set it apart from the competition, including a super comfortable rubberized grip and an integrated, three-position LED work light. It illuminates when you squeeze the trigger, or, if you prefer, you can turn the thumbwheel and shut the light off (though we found it pretty handy). Unlike other drills and drivers, the brushes on this model are easily accessible for cleaning and eventual replacement-—all you need is a coin to twist open the cover. Bosch makes it very clear that this is a driver and shouldn't be used as a drill. We like that it comes with two batteries, so you can one-hour charge one and keep working with the other. If you're turning bolts, nuts or screws on a daily basis, this is definitely worth the investment because it will quickly repay you in time and effort saved.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste Top to learn more
more battery life please
This impact driver does everything my 12v Makita did at a fraction of the cost. It feels nice and substantial, not cheap by anymeans. you would think for the money that it would. My only gripe is the battery life. It is aweful!! The 2.6ah NiMh in the Makita would run forever, this one goes limp embarassingly fast on the jobsite. 2.0ah NiCd is sad. Other than that it is highly recommended. Nothing at Home Depot can touch this in the $129 range.
