This Stuff Is Truly Amazing!
First of all I need to explain, I am a guy and I do not have much to do with using our dishwasher. We purchased our dishwasher roughly 9 years ago and we have never done anything to clean the inside of the machine. It has a stainless steel interior and I guess I never thought that this type of interior would need cleaning. After all, the dishwasher splashes around extremely hot, soapy water, so it stood to reason (in my own mind anyway) that the dishwasher pretty much cleaned itself. Well my wife came to me about 2 weeks ago and told me that we might need to replace the dish racks in our dishwasher due to the dark stains that had nearly covered the entire surface of both racks and the silverware baskets. When I looked I also noticed a film that covered most of the bottom and sides of the stainless interior as well. I couldn't believe how nasty the inside of our dishwasher looked.We tried running vinegar through the machine but it barely touched the stains. Some...

Glisten works.
Let me tell you what... I live in an area with VERY hard water. We do not have a water softener. My dishes often come out of the dishwasher very chalky and with scale. The directions say to run the DW empty but I go ahead and run a load of the chalky dishes with this treatment. It works. I can't find this stuff in local stores... you should buy several boxes to keep on hand. You only need to use it quarterly even with hard water like mine.

Marvelous product
At our current home we have well water. While this has for the most part been great (it tastes much better than our city water)we have high levels of manganese. Though harmless, manganese is like having rusty pipes, and the dishwasher was constantly getting a brown film on everything (including the dishes). My wife and I tried every home remedy and cleaning product to clean up the mess. We ran cycles with vinegar, bleach and spent many wasted hours scrubbing with products like Comet, Simple Green and Kaboom. Nothing worked. While the cleaners made a minimal impact (through hard scrubbing) we were left wondering if anything could do the job. Finally, I ran across Glisten at the supermarket and decided to give it a try. Shiny, like new
I would highly recommend Glisten to safely clean the hardwater stains from your dishwasher. After one use, my year old dishwasher looked like new. I plan to use this product periodically to keep it clean and functioning well. It even cleaned out the food trap that was gunked up with grease and wouldn't come clean with a good scrub. From what I can tell, Glisten is relatively safe. Its active ingredient is citric acid, which must be handled with care since it can cause irritation. But at least it's not some heavy duty chemicals that will poison the environment and my family.

Fabulous Product!!!!
This stuff is unbelievable! I have hard, sulphur water that has left a build-up of mineral deposits in my dishwasher from years of use. I got the other brand, Dishwasher Magic, which I thought worked well, but it left an orange-ish colored waxy deposit on the bottom that wouldn't come off. I saw this on Amazon and decided to try it. I have a septic tank, so I'm always looking to go as natural as possible with anything going down the drain. I got this, used it twice now, and a lot of the waxy build-up from the other brand is gone along with all brown tinge of the mineral deposits! I've just ordered more to be sure the dishwasher is always sparkling clean, as it should be. It's also a lot cheaper than the Dishwasher Magic brand!!!

Best cleaner for the bathroom too!
I used to buy Glisten all the time for my dishwasher, and it works really well. I use it a few times a year and my dishwasher, which is well over 20 years old, looks like new on the inside. A few years ago, on a lark I thought I would try it on the hard water stains under the rim in the toilet; I had tried everything else but I was at the point where I thought I thought nothing would get them off. I poured the glisten in the bowl, swished it around and let it sit for about a half an hour. When I brushed around the rim - all the hard water stains were completely gone; and the brushing took virtually no effort at all.I was very pleased, but didn't think a lot about it until my local grocery store stopped selling Glisten. After a few months, the stains came back on the dishwasher and in the bathroom. I looked for Glisten everywhere but couldn't find it; I was thrilled (yes, thrilled!) when I found it on Amazon. Works like MAGIC!!!
Wifey was so happy I bought this for our dishwasher. Our dishwasher is 5 years old and lately it started having white residue on our dishes. We have water softener so we suspected the problem is on the dishwasher. That is when I started researching about this problem and I found this product here on Amazon with excellent review. At first I was skeptical but I gave it a try anyway. As soon as we receive it, we use it on the first try, it didn't clean the dishwasher very good because it was the first time we cleaned it since we bought the dishwasher. I didn't even know that a dishwasher needs to be cleaned regularly and didn't even know that this thing exist. So we cleaned it the second time, we saw a big difference and then cleaned it the third time, our dishwasher cleans and works as new.Lessons learned. Clean your dishwasher regularly with this thing. Maybe once a month will do.

tablets do work
These tablets do work very well. Others who have not had any luck with them may have the same problem I had originally before I was told about this product by my repairman. Since I have an extended service policy on my set, I called to have the smell checked out. The service tech. opened the front of the washer and found several baby socks stuck in the drain trap. Always wondered where those disappeared to. Any small items must be washed in a net-bag to keep them from slipping between the barrel and the gasket at the front of the barrel (vibrating during cycles can allow small items to be squeezed through). The socks smelled horrible! If this is the reason for the smell, then bleach would be a temporary cure.

My Bosch Washer and Dryer (HE) have been the best investment by far, but one mishap of leaving a wet load inside the washer prior to a week vacation, left a strong odor that would not go away. I was prepared to use all three tablets of the Affresh, but it only required one. The odor is completely gone and I am VERY happy with this product.It did go against my thrifty nature to run an empty hot-water load, but that is what the directions read and it is a key component to successfully getting rid of the odor.

Saved me hundreds of dollars
My dishwasher was making a funny grinding noise and I called Sears appliance repair. The tech said I could either replace a part in the dishwasher's "garbage disposal" (apparently there is a mini garbage disposal inside that grinds up food before it goes into the drain) or let it be and see if it gets worse. Since there was no harm in waiting I did. He suggested Dishwasher Magic and I ordered 4 bottles. The price seemed kind of high, but two bottles stopped the problem. We have very hard (mineral rich) water here, and the inside of the dishwasher was covered with white film in spite of being only 2 years old. Dishwasher Magic removed the scales. I now have this as part of my regular maintenance. The product is simple to use.

Made a huge difference
My dishwasher didn't seem to be rinsing well enough or the water wasn't getting pumped in well enough because about 1/4 or 1/2 of the soap I'd put in the dish wouldn't get used and the dishes would be clean but have a soapy residue on them. I'de have to run them through a 2nd rinse cycle. I think there was a lot of build up in there from the hard water. The shipping can make it seem a bit pricey but I made it worth my while by ordering 3 of these along with 4 packages of disposal cleaner, which was another issue I was having...stinky garbage disposal. I can't seem to find this stuff in my local stores so I'm glad I found these here. The dishwasher was making a loud whirring noise when it ran and it used to be a quiet machine. It's Magic!
After paying almost $200 for dishwasher repairs, I still had poor performance on the top rack. The repair guy suggested trying Dishwasher Magic, which I was able to buy locally. (The alternative was a new motor and pump.) It's mostly citrus acid, and you run it in the empty dishwasher with the hottest water possible. (I used high temp boost and sani-rinse). Its purpose is to clean out the lime, soap deposits, calcium, etc. that build up in the water tubes. Well, I am happy to report that it performed its job admirably! I haven't been able to use the top rack in a couple of weeks - just no cleaning power up there. Last night after using Dishwasher Magic, I loaded everything in nice and dirty, just like I usually would, and it came out great. Sparling dishes in hard water!
I bought Glisten Dishwasher Deodorizer & Rinse Aid in desperation! We have extremely hard water and my glasses and silverware came out of my dishwasher looking spotty, stained and thoroughly unappetizing. I had tried a few dishwasher additives, which are expensive, and nothing really worked for very long. I hung the Glisten tag in my dishwasher and from the very first wash, I could see a definite difference in my glassware and silverware. It says it lasts for up to 21 washes but I know I've used it much longer than that, and am just now noticing spots and stains again, so I will replace it. Does it make my dishwasher (and dishes) smell lemony? No, but who cares? I don't want dishes to smell like anything other than the food placed on them. I just like shiny, sparkling clean dishes, and this does the trick.
