Not so wise, maybe
I've given this product four stars because according to my research on the subject of Thyroids and having Hypothyroidism, I find this Iodine Plus to be as good as any other & better than most because it is iodine and potassium iodide, the best combination for iodine deffeciency and underactive thyroid. The daily recommended dose is 5 mg (not 15) of Iodine combined with a balanced amount of 7.5 mg of Iodide - the optimal formulation for peak bio-availability, according to Womens Health Institue of Texas. This is the optimal amount you can find anywhere & is speciffically for thyroids and iodine deffecientcy. Others come in sublingual or pill form and I prefer the liquid. The price is much more affordable too. It is Ok to take this with or without an underactive thyroid problem, which is good and can be taken without worry. Sea Kelp is not suffencient for iodine intake & helps very little. It would take a whole bottle of sea kelp to get the iodine... Top to learn more

Supplement that saves lives
Iodoral was recommended to me by my doctor. My headaches went away, it stopped my dry itchy skin in its tracks, turgor improved dramatically, and carb cravings just disappeared. My fingernails quit splitting & cracking and are now beautiful and long. I could go on & on, but this is a life saving addition to your vitamin regimen. Do your own research and try it for yourself. I suffered from joint pain, especially the hips and knees and general pain in all my muscles. I also had severe problems sleeping. My basil body tempature was 97 degrees and lower. My hair was falling out and dry as was my skin. My thyroid levels were elevated and I chose to take Iodoral rather than a synthetic drug that my Doctor recommended. Within 48 hours on Iodoral I was pain free and able to move. I am sleeping better and no longer losing hair and I did it without drugs. I wish more people would try natural supplements before drugs. Read and educate youself. Books on the subject are by Dr. David Brownstein, "Overcoming Thyroid Disorders" and "Iodine, Why You Need It, Why You Can't Live Without It". Great books.

Why Didn't My Doctors Tell Me About This?
My wife is hypothyroid, and I became interested in her condition when her doctors struggled to get her thyroid to respond to various medications. I searched hypothyroidism on the web, and one of the things that popped up was iodine. I read the various articles about it, and the reviews here on Amazon, and decided to order this. My wife agreed to try it, and I figured I'd do the same, just to see If it made me feel better. We decided to take 5 drops (12.5 mg) each day and see if we noticed any effects. While my wife reported no improvement after a week, I experienced much more energy and alertness immediately after starting. But the real surprise for me was the vast improvement of some skin conditions I've had for many years that my dermatologist prescribed medication for, but could only slow the progression. The itching stopped immediately, and the patches of thick and callused skin on one of my palms started showing improvement, as did the eczema patch on one knee... Top to learn more

Life-changing stuff!
I have had symptoms of low thyroid most of my life but the lab tests were always within "normal" limits, so I was never treated to relieve the symptoms. I have been taking this stuff - 2-3 drops 5-6 days a week for several months. My energy is up, my skin is clearer, and I am able to keep the 35 lb weight loss without counting every calorie. Worth considering
I have a number of hypo symptoms but am not interested in going on conventional medicine. Having taken Lugol's for about two weeks I find my basal body temperature has gone from mid-96s to 98.6 (what a cliche!) Also, the ice-cold feet I bothered my husband with at night have normalized. I also find that insomnia that was keeping me up until four a.m. or later has abated, now I'm getting tired around ten p.m. So I don't have long-term data, but for now I am pleased. My hope is over time it will correct my estrogen imbalance. Just know that iodine requires self-education. Very good product
My elderly husband (80 years) and I (72 years) recently started taking this iodine supplement after reading a book on the subject. My husband is sprinting better than before and thinks that he is less prone to weight gain than previously. I find that I have more energy and less craving for sweets. From what I read, most people have low iodine levels and require more that the daily recommendations, especially if they use Splenda and fluorinated water. Top to learn more
