WOW! Amazing!
I had never purchased a Jillian Michaels DVD before b/c of the hit or miss reviews. So when I heard raves about this one, I decided to give it a shot and I am so glad I did. This is an absolute butt-kicker workout. I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser (I work out 5-6 days a week) so I figured I could see what Level 1 was all about and move onto Level 2 right away. Listen to me folks--these workouts are HARD. Level 2 was VERY difficult--a good difficult though, very challenging. When Jillian tells you to start at level 1, listen to her she knows what she's doing. I've been at this for about 5 days, and I already feel a difference in my body.Jillian is tough--absolutely NO rest in this workout (not even for a sip of water) but that's what makes it go by so quickly, and it makes your body change, according to Jillian. You're done before you know it--but by the end you've gotten a kick butt workout and feel like you've really done something. She bases her workout on the 3-2-1...

WOW! YIKES! JILLIAN KICKS YOUR [...]
Ok, if you're like me (overweight and unmotivated) and watch The Biggest Loser and wish you could be one of the contestants and have Jillian train you then you're in luck! Buy this DVD! I just received the dvd today and did the First Level today. It's been 2 and 1/2 hours since I finished and I'm still shaking and finding it hard to go up and down stairs. I can't even imagine what she puts those poor contestants through..LOL!I have knee pains and feet pains and usually just walk at 3mph on my treadmill. Well, suffice to say I'm not seeing any weight loss. And let me be honest the real reason I have knee and feet problems is because I weigh too much. So I did the full on jumping jacks..no modified jumping jacks in this workout...Jillian tells you straight, she has 400lb people doing full jumping jacks, you can too! And she was right. I sure as heck can't really do the push ups but I'm sure that I will be able to eventually if I keep doing this dvd everyday for 20...

But anyone who's ever seen Michaels work out with contestants on The Biggest Loser knows it's not necessarily going to be easy. The 30 Day Shred features three 20-minute workouts, each of which features, in rapid succession, short bursts of strength, cardio, and abs, and a cool-down. Sound easy? Think again. My FAVORITE Jillian Yet!
I absolutely love-love-LOVE this workout! It seems to me that Jillian took a lot of feedback she received in regards to her other workouts, specifically 30 Day Shred, and used the praise/criticism to create this incredibly effective workout. There are several changes she made that I really liked:1) The workouts are *slightly* longer than 30 Day Shred, I think because the warm-up and stretching parts are a little longer and more involved.2) LOTS of new moves are incorporated here! You'll see some familiar exercises, such as side lunges and lunges w/ bicep curls, but Jillian did try to throw in some new stuff that is still very effective. She also claims that she doesn't repeat ANY moves in any of the other levels. I've only gotten through level 1 so far, but I'll take her word for that.3) In the strength circuits, there are 3 different moves per circuit as opposed to just 2. Holy Cow!!!
I got an advanced copy of this DVD from JIllian's camp so I could blog about it. Let me give a bit of history first, I LOVED 30 Day Shred, Trouble Zones, and Six Week Six Pack the best. So, for me, this DVD is my favorite. It's done in a similar style but there are FOUR workouts that range from "doable" level 1 notice I did not say easy) to madness level 4. I haven't been able to do level 4 yet. I followed the DVD's instructions and spent a week on level 1. Then moved on to level 2 and literally dripped poured sweat. Now I am on level 3. This one requires me to stop and catch my breath, but I am getting through it. So far it's challenging, but the moves are fresh and Jillian motivates you through it. Plus, the workouts are only 25 minutes, which feels manageable to me even though they are hard core. The other great part about this DVD is that it comes with a 30 day meal plan that lives on her website (no you do not have to pay extra for it - it comes with a code so you can log in)...

Classic Jillian with a twist
Ripped in 30 is a comprehensive 30 day diet and exercise plan that kicks butt! The main menu has Workouts, Workout Recommendation, 30 day meal plan, English/Spanish, Subtitles on/off, and More from Jillian. There are 4 workouts. All you need 1 set of light handweights, 1 set of heavy handweights, and a mat. You do one workout level each week. You start with workout 1 in week one and move to workout 2 the second week, or as soon as you are able, and so on. There are two exercisers with Jillian in each workout. You follow Shelly for beginner modifications and Bashira is back as an advanced modifier. Jillian promises that you will never see the same move twice across the 4 workouts. Classic JIllian!
While I loved her most recent workouts (Yoga Meltdown and Shred it with Weights), they were very different in terms of her traditional style. 6 Week Six-Pack reminds me exactly why I started doing her workouts in the first place. It is very reminiscent of 30-Day Shred and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, with a mix of traditional exercises and some I've never seen before. She blends weight training and cardio exercises, all of which focus on the abs in this case. She explains why crunches alone don't work--you must blast off the fat over your abs with cardio in order for them to show. You never stop moving in this DVD, and you'll start to sweat quickly. It's only about 35 minutes, so it's definitely easy to fit in regardless of your daily schedule. If you want a quick but hardcore way to get ripped, this is it!

At 26 years old and nearly six feet tall, I should be a shapely Amazon of a gal, but I'm not. Jillian has outdone herself!
I sat down & watched this workout to get familiar with it before I actually attempted it. I got tired just WATCHING! Jillian is amazing, as always! This workout is her best, and hardest, to date.I did it for the first time yesterday...and I am SORE today! I'm in better shape than the average woman my age (45). This winter, I'm doing 2-a-day training sessions: working out with Jillian's various DVDs @ 4am before work, then running either at lunchtime on the treadmill in the gym at work or after I get home in the evening around my neighborhood. I also do a long run on the weekend. I've run 20+ races in the past 3 years, including 7 half marathons and 1 full marathon. Can I give this more than 5 Stars? WOW!
This amazing DVD by Jillian Michaels is a 50 minute workout, including warm-up and cooldown, that includes innovative toning moves to target trouble spots. While not for the true beginner, I think this workout would be good for all levels, because she shows modifications for beginners and advanced exercisers (although sometimes not until halfway through the set). Also, you move at a slightly faster pace throughout, so you get a cardio benefit from this workout as well, although its' main focus is toning your body into great shape. The circuit nature of the workout means that you continue to burn more calories even after the workout is over.The workout is composed of seven 6-minute circuits that leave no muscle unworked. You can choose to do the entire 40 minute circuit or just select the body parts you want to focus on so you can focus on your "problem areas". Phenonmenal Workout-Toruble Zones Be Gone
I am a huge fan of the Jillian Michael's approach to fitness. I used her Shred 30 program and lost 29 pounds in two months by doing the workouts and following the diet recommended on her website. Let me start by saying I am not one of these people who just "LOVES" to workout. I do it because I need change. I tried this workout yesterday as it is available on Exercise TV/On Demand and I have to tell you, it was the most transformational exercise experience I have ever had. Jillian's coaching and motivational speak are reverberating in my head even now. For this workout you will need 3 to 5 pound weights and about an hour (trust me this hour is worth it). She starts with 5 minute warm up that is cardio and dynamic stretching infused. SHe cools down with a yoga style static stretch that is just wonderful. There are roughly (six) 7 minute segments in which you do about 5 powerful arm and leg focused or ab focused work. The intensity of the arm, ab and leg work basically guaranteed me...

You have not known pain until you've done "The Surrender"!!
I own all of Jillian's DVDs, so when this one and it's companion DVD came out, I ordered them immediately.This one is like "Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism" but the circuits are weights based. At about an hour long, she has you run through 5 exercises 2 times a circuit and most are with weights in hand. Towards the middle, she does matwork for the abs (some with weights!) and in the last circuit she does old school matwork for legs and glutes.This kicked my butt in a good way. I was sweaty and tired at the end. I completed it, but having to modify some exercises, so now I have something to work towards.Having owned so many of Jillian's DVDs, I was worried she would use the same exercises over and over but she keeps it really fresh! She has a lot of exercises I have never seen or done before and all I can say is WOW! She does this exercise called "The Surrender" Oh. My. Goodness. It is super hard and I had to stop. It's also a little hard on the knees...

'60 day shred' blows any other workout DVD out of the water...
...if you know how to work it!!These 3 workouts (level 1 through 3) are fantastic as they each take about 27 minutes including warm up and cool down, but they are highly intense and you will see results for sure after about 7 to 10 times through. All you need is 3 -5 lbs dumbbells and a mat. You are getting a great cardio workout that boosts your cardiovascular system in no time while building lean muscle simultaneously. Yes, there are only 3 minutes of abs in each workout, but your abs are called into action throughout many of the other moves as well. There are a lot of plank exercises, specially in level 2 and 3, and they alone work your abs far better than any crunch, so no worries about your abs being shortcut here!This DVD doesn't include any instructions on how to use these workouts, other than a vague suggestion to keep working on one level daily till you are ready to move up to the next level. Insane!
I bought this Jillian Michaels DVD for $4 through instant digital download... Very intense, thorough, 20 minute workout consisting of three circuits of strength, cardio and abs exercises. I love the fact that I can play this on the TV or on my laptop anywhere and anytime I want. I recommend this DVD to everyone and anyone interested in losing weight and getting in shape. After day 5 I did feel stronger and it was getting easier although I thought I was going to drop dead on day 1. Now on day 10 I have already lost an inch off my waist and hips! Tough As Nails! You'll Love Every Second
I have all of the non-BL Jillian Michaels workout dvds and was thrilled that my UPS guys beat the snow to deliver this new addition today. It does not disappoint!Here's the skinny: 7 six minute circuits, no weights, no equipment. Just you and some free space to jump around (you don't even need that much space; trust me, I live in a tiny NYC apartment and am completely able to do all the exercises). Each circuit is made up of a set of exercises performed twice before moving on to the next circuit: full body engagement, plyometrics and some serious core work mid-way through. But the focus is really on getting your heart rate up and Jillian delivers (my husband walked in after I was done and said he'd never seen my face so red before -- so beware! More difficult than difficult
I bought this DVD to reward myself for slowly working my way up to Level 2 of the 30-Day Shred, which took several months because I am not always consistent about working out. I felt pretty confident about my fitness level, because at one point, Level 1 had made me feel like I was going to die, and then Level 2 had the same effect, and now I felt like I was ready for anything.Well, I had to stop after the first 26 minutes of this video. Partly because I pulled a muscle in my hamstring. And partly because I'm not used to working out this hard for 40 minutes. Cardio that can deliver
I just tried Jillian's new workout Banish the Fat Boost Your Metabolism and I have to say I like it. I am a member on her blog and have been using the Shred 30 Program for a little over two months and I have lost a total of 29 pounds. I was worried about hitting a plateau so I was excited to see the release of two new dvds. The DVD willnot be released until tomorrow, Feb. 3, but it is available today on exercise TV/Comcast Digitial Cable. It is an hour workout with a phenomenal warm up and cool down. She does about 6-7 circuits of cardio intense exercises (that can be modified) and you repeat the exercises twice in each circuit. I felt challlenged and really good after I got done with it. When I first started I said, "I'm in over my head", but soon discovered she gives you adequate rest between the sets by alternating a really tough set with a more moderate set to get a little bit of recovery. I have all of Jillian’s workouts and a good amount of Bob’s workouts and I have used The 30 Day Shred more times than any of the other workout DVDs combined. However, if you’re new to working out at home, my recommendation for your first (and potentially only) workout DVD is Jillian Michaels’s 30 Day Shred. I own the 30 Day Shred and I used it a lot before I got my gym membership. If you need more motivation, here are some 30 Day Shred before and after photos. The shred is a great cross-training tool. The shred is ONLY 25 MINUTES , including stretching. I own a slew of workout DVDs that are go-tos for non-gym-mood days and for days where access to the gym is impossible. There are 3 levels and within each level she gives you the easier version of a move, the harder version of the move and the extreme version of a move — so it’s very easy to modify for your fitness level. I used to head home and do it or Jillian’s strength training DVD over lunch on my off days when I trained for my last half marathon. And, as I mentioned, you get 3 levels and within the 3 levels there are also 3 different levels … so that’s like 9 different workouts for $10. Confused, I assured him that I was almost 30 and that he wasn’t possibly interested and promptly beelined towards my car to go home and spend some quality time with Jillian. If you’ve heard the rumors about Jillian Michaels … they’re all true. I attribute my stellar race time and the fact I didn’t get injured while training to cross training with Jillian.
