Everyone needs some of these for emergencies or just everyday usage.
The 84" by 52" size versions of these blankets are pretty good for user comfort. I bought some of these back when cold weather was just setting in and I immediately stopped using heavy blankets and quilts to stay warm. I used one to sleep, a sleeping back style when I was watching TV and I have to say they kept me as warm as I needed to be. Granted, they are somewhat noisy, so if you're sharing a room or a bed, they might be a problem for some. I'd say everyone should get some of these for power outages, to keep in the glove box for emergencies or in my case, for everyday sleeping in cool or cold weather. Heck, they're even great for hot weather if you need an impromptu shelter. Some sticks, duct tape and one or two of these and you're all set...

Silver Adhesive Mylar looks good. Adhesive back had trouble sticking, but when I sprayed more glue on to the sticky adhesive, then it stayed put. I am hoping it will last a few years.

Not very fuzzy
This product is probably what you think it is. One of those loud, crinkly, reflective "space" type blankets. They're fairly cheap, and you get a lot of them. They're very useful for keeping a person warm if you know how to use them.Some people complain that it doesn't keep them warm at all. This is most likely because they aren't using it properly. There are better articles for this information than this review, but essentially.. This blanket prevents heat-loss from radiation (which is how the majority of our body heat is lost). Radiation is when heat radiates away from its source. This is where the product shines: it allows hot pockets of air to form between you and the blanket. It doesn't do much to protect against conduction since it's so thin. Conduction occurs when heat transfers from one place to another by touching. When you grab an ice-cube, you are losing heat because of conduction. Similarly, if you are in a very windy area, while the blanket itself is...

I had my doubts...but not anymore
I purchased this product (Emergency Mylar Thermal Blanket pack of 10) to put some in my wife's car, my car, and an emergency kit. I have never used one of these before and I thought that they would just be an "okay if I have to" use. Boy was I wrong! I took one out at night (45 degrees F) to test it. It kept me delightfully warm, not hot, but a comfortable warm. I did not feel like I was wrapped in plastic wrap which I thought I would feel. I also tried to push my feet through it (holding on with my hands and with two feet pushing as hard as I could) and all it did was stretch a little but nothing serious. However once it is punched (with a knife on purpose on my part), it will continue ripping fairly easily. Over all this is an excellent, very light weight, cheap price to not freeze in a crumby situation.FYI The blankets I received are made by B-H Supplies, a 52" by 84" (not 54" by 82" if it matters) and holds in 90% of body heat. I purchased these to make emergency kits for my families cars. They are not expensive and could save their life if they break down.My brother used a few to line a dog house he made. good reflective mylar
We used this mylar to line the ceiling of a dark poultry coop for increased reflected light. It is definitely mirror like, and helped illuminate the dark coop. We used a staple gun to hold it in place, and it has held up for several months now. It is an easy way to have the reflection of a mirror without the weight or danger of glass. I'm thinking of trying to make a garden mirror out of it in the spring.

NOTES: Sizes shipped will typically be the tape industry standard metric-cut sizes, i. e. 24mm for each 1 inch of nominal tape width ordered (rolls are approximately 5% narrower than the nominal size). Description JVCC MPF-01 Metalized Polyester Film Tape is a metallized (aluminized) polyester mylar film with a brilliant, vibrant mirror-like finish. This tape is typically cut to width from log rolls so most sizes ship on a plain white core. Metalized Polyester Film Tape is used for reflective shielding.

I ordered a small sheet of dimple mylar off eBay (non-conductive and disapates heat better than normal mylar preventing heat spots. For good measure I cut a pieces of aluminum off a PC heat sink and fixed them to the Tegra chip and the ram chips (with alaska sheet type heat sink stuff, that's a technical term ). The heat sinks are probably overkill but it cant hurt and may... If I lay back, with the bottom of the vega resting on my stomach and I have a tee shirt on it gets hot enough to become uncomfortable so I have to move it. The Mylar sheet stuck to the back of the vega is reflecting heat back at the motherboard... Both the iphone 3 and 4 have a mylar mirror coating on the rear of the LCD to reflect heat away from the lcd and touchscreen, and it really works well. The metal panel bettween the LCD and motherboard will slow down the heating of the touchscreen but not much and will probably just be trapping heat when it gets up to temperature.
