Junk food, but fun and a special treat for fans of manga
Pocky is just plain fun to eat. I discovered these snacks at an anime convention (though I'd heard about them before and had seen manga characters eating them). They are very, very slim sticks of biscuity stuff (the flavor to me is a cross between waffle cones and pretzels) that have a charming tiny popping crispness. The chocolate flavor, a nice non-bitter, non-dark, generically pleasing choco-taste, seems to be the most popular (given how fast they sell out at cons), but I prefer the flavor of the strawberry which is like strawberry ice cream. Very nice.This is by no means a health food (it's in the same category as a cookie, it's got fat and sugar and non-healthful ingredients). But hey, it's junk food. We all know it's supposed to be OCCASIONAL and not habitual in the diet. Unless you're really prone to binge-eating or can't stop yourself a whole one of these smaller boxes is not a huge calorie splurge if you stick to a reasonable number. 10 of the chocolate pocky...

Delish! I know that pocky can be bought for one dollar, and this is clearly a rip off, but because my mom and dad didn't take me to an Asian food market and I really really wanted pocky, I bought it. I didn't use my real life money so I guess it wasn't that bad ordering it for ten dollars. So I was very excited because I'm an anime/manga lover and I always wanted to try pocky. My friend Sara also loves anime/manga and she has eaten it several times, I asked her to bring a box so I can taste it and it tasted better than I ever imagined it would. Not for warm weather shipping
Love the Pocky strawberry, but they should not be shipped in warm weather. They were all melted and stuck together, with most of the strawberry fudge left on the inside of the wrapper. Also, not too thrilled that they do contain trans fats.

Fun Pocky flavors
This was a great gift for my Pocky loving daughter. I bought them for her to give as party favors for her birthday, but she kept them all to herself. We can usually only find the chocolate and strawberry Pocky in stores so it was fun to try all the other flavors.

A great pocky assortment
Where I live I can only get my hands on two types of pocky: strawberry and chocolate. Nothing wrong with either flavor, but friends elsewhere have access to more variety. So upon finding this my fingers couldn't hit "Add to cart" fast enough. It's a very nice selection of flavors, I really liked milk and orange. The various other candies were just as good.

I gave Katrina some strawberry highlights to make her cuter (because in my mind, pink is a cute color~ ♥). As for Rurik’s vest, I actually have one with a similar color-scheme. While I suggest you sample other Japanese treats, if you're a little nervous about eating melon flavoured chocolate, or a slimy fruit treat, Pocky is really the way to go. You might find yourself becoming addicted to these cookie sticks. that is if you can find it. Japanese candy is very hip now a days, and Pocky is pretty much the quintessential Japanese treat. Some of these hard to find treats are treats you really shouldn't miss as well.
