American Made SOLID From Fit To Finish
I love this knife! It's clipped to my jeans as I write this. The Manix 2 Combo edge offers the best of both worlds having both a straight edge and the spyderco serrated edge on one super blade! It has a stainless liner with spine jimping and wrapped in the G10 grip material. Made in Golden, CO of 154CM blade stainless steel, it can be carried by either hand and comes with a lanyard hole for those who would use it. It opens and closes easily and securely. Like I said, I'm wearing it as I write this. Some might say it's a bit large for an EDC knife, that just depends on your needs for the day. I like wearing knives like choosing a watch. It's personal preference and depends on what you may need to do during your day. The Manix 2 is my go to knife. That really says it all. Top to learn more

The Perfect Knife for Me!
I bought my Spyderco Native at a gun show years ago when I was looking for a tough, well made knife to use at work (I'm an electrician). I had every intention of abusing this knife; not for the sake of abuse but because I thought a strong knife would be the most direct way to perform many of my tasks throughout the day. What sold me on this knife was the tip-up carry and ease of opening and closing. The whole out, open, work, close, back in pocket operation can be done one-handed, without looking and in a very easy and natural feeling way. That's the way electricians typically use their tools, pulling them from their tool pouches when needed. Like it says in the title, this was the perfect knife for me since it fit so well with my basic habits. It performed beautifully for years needing only sharpening and the occasional clip change (clips are not very expensive and are easily purchased by mail). I've seen in some reviews where people have wondered about the hinge strength and I can...

excellent small edc
the spyderco native (not the native III) is my favorite sub-$50 knife. it fits perfectly in the hand and allows you to choke up on the blade for better precision. the ergonomics combined with superior cpm-s30v steel create an awesome little knife. ive looked and i cannot find a knife with this awesome steel in this price range, other knives with cpm-s30v start about $30 more than the native. the cpm-s30v steel holds a sharper edge, and for a longer time than some of my knives that cost twice as much. it comes razor sharp out of the box, my only crticism of the knife is that it is riveted together instead of made with screws which makes cleaning difficult and adjusting impossible (but it came from the factory perfectly adjusted, so no biggie). all in all steel quality 10/10 weight 10/10 construction 7/10 price 10/10 handle 8/10 lockup 10/10 ergonomics 10/10 buy as many as you can now, no other knife for less than $75 compares.

Product Description
Engineered to fit the human hand, the Native's ergonomic design maximizes cutting ability while minimizing discomfort and fatigue. A superior combination of performance and comfort, it features two separate finger choils for maximum versatility during use. The first choil (where the blade and handle meet) allows the index finger to be positioned closer to the edge for precise, controlled cutting. The second choil positions the hand farther back for increased power and comfort. Bi-Directional Texturing molded into the FRN handle creates a multi-level -Inch stepped -Inch texture for a positive grip. The locking lever features a relieved David Boye Dent to ensure that the lock remains safely engaged even when gripping the handle forcefully. The Native's blade is hollow-ground CPM-S30V steel with a weight-reducing swedge and a section of textured -Inch jimping -Inch on the spine to provide a slip-resistant purchase for the thumb. A black steel pocket clip offers tip-up carry and can be reversed for left or right-side carry via a barrel-shaped screw that doubles as a lanyard hole. Top to learn more
Great knife for the price
I'm somewhat of a knife guy and I've owned a few Spyderco knives over the years. The Spyderco Native is a great knife for the price. It is very well designed and has a great blade - like most Spyderco knives. The blade is fairly beefy - stout would be a good term for it.Due to the thickness of the blade, it feels like a heavy-duty knife and I could see how it would make the user want to use it for rougher work than it was designed for (prying, etc.) Liners would be a big improvement for heavy duty use. Also, the texture of the handle was a bit smoother than I like. If I were to buy again, I'd probably go with the Native III because I like the handle better. These "complaints" are really a bit nit-picky, because all-in-all this is a very good knife and a great value.

Read The Description of Blade FULL SERRATION'S!
First off this is a review for the Manix-2 with a fully serrated blade. I thought I was buying the combo edge like the picture, but no. Amazon should really try to get the pic right or have no picture at all. Now I am not going to send it back cause I live way in interior Alaska and i just would rather deal with it. This knife is however very very nice. Awesome lockup with the ball bearing and zero blade play. Nice thick 154CM steel with razor sharp serration's. The G-10 scales are very nice with tons of traction on the spine. Awesome feel in the hand and a very smooth opener. Overall and excellent EDC just wish it was the combo edge. Top to learn more

Picture Deceiving
When ordered the picture appeared to show blade half serrated, however, when received blade was totally serrated which was unacceptable. The knife is well made and if it was half and half would have kept instead of returning it. Am giving it four stars as it is a well made knife and as other quality Spyderco products I own would have recommended it. Top to learn more

Product Description
The Manix2 has enjoyed a welcome reception since its release in early 2010. An all-black version arrived summer of 2010 with a DLC (diamond like coated) black blade, black screws and black silhouette pocket clip. Just like the non-black version it features an exceptionally strong lock called the Ball Bearing Lock®. The lock consists of a free-floating ball bearing contained in a custom high-tech polymer cage. The round ball bearing allows the lock to self adjust across a large surface, smoothly and consistently locking up with solid confidence. Layered under the G-10 handle are scalloped full-steel scale liners extending just beyond the handle scales, effectively jimping the handle's perimeter while increasing rigidity and strength. The matte black non-reflective blade is Crucible 154-CM steel, hollow-ground with aggressive thumb serrations (jimping) above a super-sized 14mm Spyderco Round Hole. A black three-screw pocket clip is left/right hand friendly and positions the folder for tip-up carry. Top to learn more
Full steel liners with extended jimping; nonslip G10 handle and ambidextrous tip-up clip; oversized piped lanyard
High-carbon 154CM steel blade is hollow-ground with thumb serration; oversized, 14-millimeter round hole

Fantastic Knife - A Great Value
Prior to buying this knife, I looked at A LOT of different designs, combing through the catalogues of Benchmade, Kershaw/Zero Tolerance, CRKT, SOG, Cold Steel and Spyderco. Based on the categories of blade dimensions, steel quality, handle shape/materials, opening and locking mechanism, price, and company reputation, I finally settled on the Spyderco Manix 2; and I'm totally satisfied with my choice. What struck me first about the knife was its sheer quality. I don't know why I was surprised, Spyderco pays great attention to detail, fit, and finish - It's the same story with my G10 Dragonfly. The metal-to-metal and metal-to-grip-scale fit on the Manix is just about flawless. The components fit so well, it's as if it was all one piece. The knife has a proper weight to it with great balance; it seems to be made to exacting tolerances with everything lining up the way it should, and the metal parts exhibiting the results of precise machining and finishing. The blade on the Manix is... Top to learn more

Great Knife
The Spyderco Manix 2 is one tank of a knife from the handle to the blade and lets not forget the wonderful locking system. I also own the Spyderco Para military which is a very great knife also, but since buying the Manix 2 I rarely carry the Para military now. I say buy this knife the price is great for a American made knife plus the Spyderco Warranty which can't be beat also great steel 154 CM and the feel of the knife fits wonderful in hand. Manix 2
I bought this knife as a replacement for a Case that I carried on my belt for over 25 years. I wanted something solid and built to last. The only reason I didn't buy another Case was I wanted something different. Spyderco hit a home run with the Manix 2! A very Solid well built knife. Good blade steel,Grip, and size. Lock up is very solid and secure. It is a little heavy for a pocket knife So I went in search of a belt sheath and a Buck 10pt omni folder sheath just works. It fits in the sheath one way only -tip down, blade forward-. A nice tight fit. You will need to remove the pocket clip for the sheath tho.Hope this helps B Top to learn more
A recipe for folding knife success: Start with hard-use rated lock. Add a blade made of exotic high carbon steel. Manufacture it in Golden, Colorado using precise tolerances then add a healthy dash of American innovation. These ingredients are the Manix2, a concoction of solo features when combined make one of the strongest knives from Spyderco to date. Patented by Spyderco, the Manix2 has a Ball Bearing Lock. It’s a hardened free-floating ball bearing contained in a custom hi-tech polymer cage. The blade is 154CM and hollow-ground with aggressive thumb serrations (jimping) above a super sized 14mm Spyderco Round Hole. The Jimping doesn’t stop there. A three-screw clip is left/right-hand carry, positioned for comfort and deep pocket carry. The knife also has a large lanyard pipe to protect various types of cords or thongs. Top to learn more
