Excellent Product
VHT Night-Shades paint is an excellent product for those who want to get that expensive blackened tail light look for cheap. This product is also great for those of us who want that look, but can't find any dealers who make tail light covers for our year and make of autos. Using two light coats of this paint gets a nice, full coverage, and lets the maximum amount of light through when applying the brakes. Because you don't have to use a ton of this paint to get coverage, you can easily do 4-5 cars worth of lights per can of paint. Compairing $13 per can to $35 for covers, and even up to $250 for a full tail light assembly, how can you go wrong?

Great product (for those who are not lazy)
The results i got using this product were phenomenal. If you take the time to sand, apply multiple light coats and clear coat, this looks like somethingthat you get straight out of the factory, except the fact that you can chose the darkness you want.

a different use?
I used this to tint my truck's camper top windows. I know, not designed for that. But, I wanted a cheap easy way to darken my truck's cap top windows. Years ago you could by spray on window tint. I would never use that stuff (or this stuff) for doing nice windows, but to darken windows you don't care about, it works okay. I couldn't find spray on tint and using black spray paint is too dark. If you want to make it difficult for people to see in to your truck bed through the cap windows and you don't care how spotty it will look from INSIDE the truck bed, this stuff works. It makes the glass just dark enough that I can see out, but they can't see in. It took three coats. I used spray on tint years ago for this same thing and it worked about the same. I used black spray paint one time too and that makes the windows too dark that I can't even see out. This stuff does not do that.

vht nite shades
This is a great product. Make sure you spray this about a foot away from the lights, and very very THIN coats, let them dry in between coats,and it works perfectly. Also if you mess up I heard goo gone graffiti remover takes the nite shades right off, because paint thinner does not work (believe me). Lights look professionally done with a glossy finish, and everyone asks about them.

Works!!
I was contemplating spending 60 dollars to replace my tail lights, just to have them black. Then i came across VHT Nite Shades. I thought it was too good to be true, but took the risk anyway. I am VERY happy with the way my lights look! Note: If you buy these, and you don't want to completely black them out, you will need to spray an even coat, which is difficult if you are inexperienced. Otherwise, if you'd like them to be completely black, it's cheap and simple! I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants their car to look good and on a low budget. 5 stars!!!! WILL BUY AGAIN !!!

Works great, but needs a topcoat
I've used this on a number of cars with good results. But that comes with a caveat - I've painted a number of cars, and this will not hide any imperfections. Your tailights needs to be clean and shiny beforehand. I've had the best luck by getting a and polishing the taillights first (follow the directions; basically you just skip the regular paper and do only the foam-backed 3000 grit followed by the polish). Follow instructions on can.
first let me start by saying; " Dont listen to others when it comes to prepping the llight cover thats going to be painted"; It sticks fine without the extra sanding and all that not need acetone mess. The instructions on the can does not state that you would have to do such, and theres probably a reason why. All u have to do as it states, is to clean the light with a wax removal detergent. Heck alcohol will clean the surface good enough. wipe with a dry clean cloth after you wipe/clean the light up good and "vwala", your light is ready to be tinted. I put the lights in a box and sprayed them while in the box. I did mess up by doing it outside while the wind was up a little bit so yes it gave me the shrink effect./ if u get up close u will see some lil lines that look like stress cracks in it. So if u can, do it in doors. Overall the product works as stated. I am glad that I didnt buy the aftermarket lights I wanted. This saved me a ton of money. I was afraid of doing more than 2...

great product
The most importantthing to remember is proper prep to the tail lights. After sanding with 2000. Paper and dish detergent, acetone application, followed by a 2 to 3 light applications of vht and 2 to 3 Coats of clear coat it. Looks really really good.

VHT Nite Shades Spray Tint
This spray tint really works well! I think its even easier to apply than tint overlay kits. The only thing is that you cant use the spray if its under 60 degrees outside or it wont turn out right. your lights will turn a grayish color and it wont look good. And for light visibility, its perfect at night but somewhat hard to see during the day if it is sunny. I wouldn't reccomend spraying any more than 2 layers if you want any light to shine through during the day. It is reccomended to use this for off-roading only but I have used it on my lights for about 2 months now and I haven't had any trouble with light not shining through enough and I havent been pulled over for it so I am rating it 5 stars.

This stuff works great. Easy to apply and looks great. I did 3 coats on the back and you can still see the lights perfect at night. I also did 3 coats on the front, I would suggest maybe doing just 1 because I did end up loosing alot of light coming from my front headlights. I do have an older car so if you have a newer car with better headlights it might not make a difference for you. Still looks great would recommend to any do it yourselfer.
